ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) - The Cardinals opened the second half of the season by taking 2 out of 3 from the San Diego Padres.  Winning Sunday's game at Busch Stadium 3-2.  Adam Wainwright picked up his 13th win, which is tops in the National League.

David Freese hitting in the clean-up spot drove in 2 runs to go with his 2 hits.  But the real drama was in the 9th inning.  Edward Mujica trying to close things out had runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs.  The Padres Jedd Gyorko hit a deep fly to left field that Allen Craig had to run back to get.  He was able to leap right in front of the wall to make the catch to end the game.  The ball didn't quite have home run distance but certainly would have given San Diego the lead.  Instead Mujica picks up his 28th save and the Cardinals improve to 59-37.
