DOWNTOWN ST. LOUIS (KTVI)-There are new plans for the undeveloped area across from Busch Stadium known as Ballpark Village.  They call for approximately $700 million mixed-use retail, entertainment, office, and residential district. The project is being developed by the St. Louis Cardinals and The Cordish Companies.

The site would span seven city blocks on the 10-acre site just north of Busch Stadium. The $100 million first phase will include the development of a three story building housing a world-class Cardinals Hall of Fame Museum, a Cardinals-themed restaurant, and ticketed seating decks with views directly into the stadium.

Plans also include the development of the St. Louis Live! Plaza, a public event space covered by a retractable glass canopy. St. Louis Live! will include a state-of-the-art 40 foot LED screen.

The Cardinals and Cordish have made additional financial commitments to get the project underway, including committing to purchase all of the public bonds.
