New Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny has set his starting pitching rotation for the beginning of the 2012 season. Kyle Lohse will get the opening day start in Miami on April 4th. When the Cardinals go to Milwaukee, they will start: Jaime Garcia on April 6th, Adam Wainwright on April 7th and Lance Lynn on April 8th. Jake Westbrook will get the start on April 9th in Cincinnati, followed by Lohse and Garcia. That will allow Wainwright to start the Cardinals home opener on Friday, April 13th against the Cubs.

Absent from the Cardinals rotation is ace Chris Carpenter. He is currently back in St. Louis having his sore neck re-evaluated. Carpenter has yet to pitch in a game this spring with that neck soreness.
