(KTVI) – The Cardinals put up big numbers Tuesday night against the Padres.  Tied at 1-1 in the 5th when Daniel Desaclso hits a double down the right field line.

Jon Jay Chugs all the way around from first to beat the throw home and put the Cardinals on top 2-1.

A couple of batters later, Carlos Beltran blasted one past the diving second baseman to drive in two and the Cardinals lead at that point 4 to 1.

And then, still in the 5th inning, Allen Craig hit on that bounced over the wall for a ground ruled double.   Beltran scored to make it 5 to 1.

Then the big hit came in the 8th with the bases loaded when Descalso hit his first career.  That put the Cards up 9 to 1.  The final score was 10 to 2.  Adam Wainwright picked up his 6th win.  The final game of the series is Wednesday night at 9:10 p.m.
