Furcal sparks Cards 9th inning Rally, Cards beat Marlins 5-4

Rafael Furcal's two run single in the bottom of the 9th inning gave the Cardinals a dramatic 5-4 win on Sunday at Busch Stadium.The Cards entered the 9th trailing Miami 4-2, but they rallied off Marlins closer Heath Bell for a second time this season. Matt Carpenter's ground rule double got two runners on base. Tony Cruz hit a sacrifice fly to cut the Marlins lead to 4-3. Bell then walked Daniel Descalso to load the bases with two outs in the inning. That set up for Furcal's game winning hit.

The victory sends the Redbirds into the All-Star break on a high note. They have a record of 46-40 and trail the NL Central leading Pirates by two and a half games. The Cardinals next game is not unitl Friday, July 13th when they travel to Cincinnati to start a three game series with the Reds.
