Former Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa as well as another former Cardinals player and manager, Joe Torre were among six inducted in baseball’s Hall of Fame on Sunday in Cooperstown, NY. Also enshrined in baseball’s Hall were former Braves manager Bobby Cox, former Braves pitchers Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine, as well as A.L. slugger Frank Thomas.
LaRussa’s speech after his induction to the Hall of Fame focused on all three organizations that he managed teams for, The Chicago White Sox, Oakland A’s and of course, the St. Louis Cardinals. LaRussa thanked many Cardinal greats for their help during his managing tenure here, including all of the Cardinals Hall of Famers. He said this honor would not have been possible without the help of ownership, front office, players and fans.
