Marlins Beat Cardinals 6-5

Chris Coghlan’s single in the bottom of the 9th inning drove home the winning run in the Marlins 6-5 win over the Cardinals on Saturday afternoon in Jupiter, Florida.

The Cardinals had battled back from 5-3 down, scoring two runs in the top of the 9th on a Pete Kozma infield single that scored a run and a wild pitch that accounted for the tieing run. The Cardinals also got run scoring hits from Matt Holliday, Yadier Molina and Matt Adams.

Lance Lynn pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing three earned run in his Cardinals starting pitching performance. Marc Rzepczynski took the loss in relief for the Redbirds.
