The New York Mets pushed across a run in the 7th inning to break a 2-2 tie and beat the Cardinals 3-2 on Monday afternoon in Jupiter, Florida. Jake Westbrook had a strong start for the Cards, pitching six innings, allowing just a two run homer to New York’s Lucas Duda. The Cardinals got an RBI double from Matt Adams and a run scoring hit from rookie Oscar Taveras to tie the game at 2-2 in the 4th inning. The deciding runs was the Mets Andrew Brown’s single to center to give the Mets the lead for good at 3-2 ion the 7th inning.
