WASHINGTON DC (KTVI) – Washington National fans are elated. Jayson Werth scored a game winning home run in the bottom of the 9th inning. The homer sealed a win for the Nats. The series is tied 2-2. The tie breaking game will be played on Friday.

Fans, these are the high holy days. For most of the game the Cardinals and Washington Nationals were tied 1-1. Kyle Lohse pitching beautifully for St. Louis. He’s been matched pitch for pitch by Wentzville native Ross Detwiler, a lefty who played college ball at Missouri State and grew up a Cardinals fan.

Earlier today, San Francisco got a grand slam home run by Buster Posey and beat Cincinnati 6-4 to advance to the NLCS.

Tonight, the Yankees host Baltimore in game four and if the Yankees win, they advance.

Oakland rallied from two runs down with three in the 9th late last night to beat Detroit and force game five against Detroit, first pitch 8:35 pm.
