The Pirates Andrew McCutchen was voted the National League’s Most Valuable Player on Thursday. The Cardinals were well represented in the voting. Yadier Molina finished third, although he got two first place votes. Cardinals second baseman Matt Carpenter finished fourth in the voting.

In the American League, the Tigers Miguel Cabrera won the MVP award for the second straight season.
