(KTVI)-Cardinals Hall of Famer Red Schoendienst celebrated his 90th birthday with over 300 of his Cardinals friends on Friday night at Mike Shannon's Restaurant in downtown St. Louis. Red's actual birthday is not until February 2nd, but with a lot of Cardinals in town for the team's Winter Warmup this weekend, the team decided to hold Schoendienst's bash now.

Schoendienst will be in a big league uniform for a 68th year this spring. He still serves the Cardinals as a special assistant and can be seen at Spring Training and at Busch Stadium hitting fungos to the players.

Fox 2 Sports reporter Maurice Drummond caught up with former Cardinal Jim Edmonds at the Red's party.
