ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-The Cardinals are in!  The reigning World Series Champions are moving on to the 2012 National League Division Series against the Washington Nationals after winning the first-of-its kind NL Wild Card game. The best-of-five series starts Sunday in St. Louis.  The Cardinals are making their ninth appearance in the postseason since 2000.

A small group of fans was trying to get tickets to Game 1 directly from the ticket windows outside Busch Stadium Saturday morning.  They were out of luck.  Those were sold out.  Their other option: ticket brokers or scalpers.

But some fans looking for a ticket to Sunday's Game 1 of the National League Division Series could be in for a pleasant surprise.

"I just found some," exclaimed one Cardinals fan outside Busch Stadium on Saturday.

That's because even though the game is sold out, some teams return tickets they won't use.

"Even if it looks like the game is sold out keep checking back because tickets do come back and often times they are very good tickets," said Ron Watermon, St. Louis Cardinals spokesperson.

He said the best way to keep checking is through the Cardinals website,

"I'm going to the big game," said one fan has he purchased tickets to Game 2 of the NLDS scheduled for Monday.

"Even if I don`t get a ticket I'm still coming downtown," said another fan. "I'm just hoping to find a ticket."
