EARTH CITY, MO (KTVI) – Rookies were on the field at Rams Park including ex-Mizzou star Michael Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted by an NFL team.

Recently, ex-NFL coach Tony Dungy said he would be reluctant to draft Sam because of possible distractions.  Dungy’s comment caused the first distraction at Rams Park and the ex-Tampa Bay and Tennessee coach apologized for his role in creating a twitter frenzy.

Today, Michael addressed Dungy’s comment with good humor and no hard feelings.
