It’s been one of the worst kept secrets in the NFL. Now, it’s apparently out of the bag...
NFL league sources are saying that the Rams have decided to trade the team’s number two overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

The Rams will likely get a lot of draft picks for that number two pick. And that could help the team fill its many needs.

The Rams decision to deal was apparently solidified after the stellar performance of Robert Griffin III at this past weekend’s NFL Combine in Indianapolis. The former Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner ran an impressive 4.41 seconds in the 40 yard dash. Griffin’s performance likely puts him as the second selection in the upcoming draft.

Former Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck also had an impressive combine. He will likely go number one to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts have said they will draft a successor quarterback to Peyton Manning. But the Rams don’t need a quarterback with Sam Bradford so that puts the number two pick on the table.

The Rams have already reportedly had trade discussions with the Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins.

They all draft in the top ten this year.

The Rams are seeking a deal similar to what the San Diego Chargers got in 2004 when they traded the rights to the then top pick Eli Manning to the New York Giants. The Chargers got two first round picks, a third round pick and a fifth round pick.

We’ll see what happens in the draft is April 26th.
