Dave Murray’s latest stl forecast and weather disco…For Tuesday…February 4, 2014

*** It is all about snow and some sleet for Tuesday and Tuesday night…prime time Noon Tuesday to 3am Wednesday morning…winds a concerns late Tuesday night into early Wednesday…another storm for the weekend…inbetween deep arctic cold***

Snow and sleet developing…especially for the afternoon
Winds: Northeast 10-15 m.p.h.
High: 30 degrees…

Tuesday night:

Snow..increasing winds late night
Winds: West/Northwest 15-30 m.p.h.
Low: 18 degrees.

Mostly cloudy with some snow flurries…a cold day…colder at night
Winds: Northwest 10-15 m.p.h.
High: 25 degrees

deep cold Wednesday night and Thursday…next shot at another solid snow Saturday into Saturday night

Not a lot of chgange in my thinking…the next 15 days will prove to be the heart of a very active winter for much of the nation. The next play is a new southern storm system for Tuesday and Tuesday night with sleet and snow developing lateTuesday morning…prime snow time noon Tuesday to 3am on Wednesday morning…this will be a cold and dry air mass so looking at a dry snow and winds picking up on the backside of the system Tuesday night resulting in blowing and drifting snow. Snow amounts…by early Wednesday morning…3 to 5 inches for the metro STL area with the bigger snow…from Columbia to Troy to Kampsville to Effingham..where amounts will be 6 to 8 inches…less snow as you head 60 to 70 miles south of metro STL…1 to 3 inches with some sleet. Another storm not to fool around with…Big cold behind the system for Wednesday night and Thursday…another southern system comes into play Friday night and Saturday…lets not even think about that yet…the energy still deep in the Pacific…one storm at a time…but it does look like more accumulating snow and more big cold.
